WEEK 13 - COLOUR DECISIONS

After compiling my collection so far, there was a gap in certain colours used as I had only used bright yellow within one sample, and a small amount in another. I wanted to make my collection cohesive, so I decided to create a sample combining green, yellow and blue to allow it to blend in with my samples in colour. I wanted to create a sample with a new, interesting technique that was done using thin 2 ply yarn, and to add some more interest in my collection’s patterns, so I spent a couple of days learning intarsia on the knit machine using a punch card. It took many attempts to get this right as small holes were appearing at the sides. After 5 attempts I finally was able to create a sample using this technique and created a pattern that added dimension to my collection and also helped blend the different colours used within my samples together.
